A BLACK LACQUERED BRONZE BUDDHA MARAVIJAYA. Thailand, Ayutthaya style, ca 17th c. Height 93 cm. Ketumala replaced. Restored.

Bronze mit Schwarzlack und Spuren von Opfergold. Der Buddha sitzt auf einem niedrigen Podest in paryankasana, die Rechte in bhumisparsa-mudra, die Linke in dhyana-mudra auf den Fusssohlen. Das rundliches Gesicht mit den geschwungenen Augenbrauen wird von stacheligen Noppenlocken eingerahmt. Ein freundliches Lächeln umspielt den Mund. Ketumala ergänzt. Rest.
